Leanne Browne and Support Link Services

Hello, my name is Leanne and I offer a unique service called Support Link Services. I often refer to my business as a ‘wrap around’ or a ‘one stop shop’ as it offers a range of individual services as well as the coordination of all services.

I have been a qualified Social Worker for the past 20 plus years, working in the Human Services field. During this time, I have had a great deal of experience working within a variety of settings, these experiences are the reason I developed Support Link Services. After years of experiencing people’s frustrations, watching people being moved from one agency to the next, I decided it was time to create my own business, one where I can determine the quality of service a person receives. Support Link Services offers a case management approach to practice, which ensures the most effective service delivery for every client who walks through my doors.

In order to help you make an informed decision about me and my business I will share a little bit about my work history with you. I began my career working with children and teens who had complex needs and resided in residential care. I focussed on the young people’s behaviour and assisted them to create positive relationships. This led me to work as a family case worker alongside transient and homeless families, with ‘at risk youth’ and disadvantaged teens in a variety of non-government and community organisations.

These experiences, working with teens highlighted a lack of alternative learning opportunities for our young people and I was keen to begin my journey in education. I was given the opportunity to observe and then create an alternative learning program for year 11 and 12 students at a youth centre. Here I developed and implemented SACE accredited programs for students ‘at risk’ of leaving school. After my time at the youth centre, I was asked to work within high schools offering teachers behavioural support techniques, developing alternative and modified learning programs, in class support, advice and counsel.

During this time of employment, I created individual and specialised workshops for teachers and services which were used as teaching aids and I was often employed to deliver them. I further developed programs to create effective community partnerships and worked as a mentor coordinator where I was involved in the roll out, implementation and management of the government funded ‘Mentor Program’.

I have worked within the justice system where I received formal qualifications in mediation and worked as a community mediator. I was also involved in the training of volunteers in the mediation process who went on to mediate community disputes.

Over the period of my career, I have been employed as a consultant, developing new positions required for the growth of services. I have implemented problem solving strategies for businesses in crisis and developed ongoing strategies for positive working relationships within a variety of businesses.

I have had extensive training and education in Counselling and Psycotherapy, which I was required to call upon within all of my positions. I could see the beauty in the process, and it gave me the ability to really help people in a short amount of time. This is why I began my own counselling and consultancy service, which I am passionate about and continue to offer today.

Over the years my business has grown and I have adapted my services to suit the needs of all of my clients, part of this has been helping people with disabilities who were struggling with the NDIS. Due to an ever increasing need I began working with NDIS participants, coordinating their plans, immersing myself in everything NDIS. Before long I began advocating for clients to receive optimal care, well-funded plans/packages and the best possible service delivery available to them.
